COVID-19 restrictions had a significant negative impact on businesses worldwide, including Changemaker, a craft beer brand run by individuals with intellectual disabilities in New Zealand. Our launch was thwarted by nationwide lockdowns, disrupting supply chains and preventing us from showcasing our brand.
In response to these challenges, we collaborated with Good George and Duncan's to release a non-alcoholic ginger beer and a Hazy Pale Ale. We also adapted to market changes by rebranding their core range beers in 440ml cans, reflecting the industry shift away from 500ml bottles.
Now, Changemaker is poised for a comeback, planning to launch three new rebranded core range beers in 440ml cans and partnering with top craft beer distribution teams, The Invisible Agency and Punky Distributions, to expand our sales reach. We are also exploring e-commerce options to strengthen our online presence to reintroduce Changemaker craft beer to New Zealand in 2023.
